2026-04-032026-04-038110.59429/pest.v8i1.13407Study on causes and prevention technologies of hidden cracks in secondary lining concrete of high ground temperature tunnels
https://ojs.as-pub.com/index.php/PEST/article/view/13408

In the construction of plateau railway tunnels, high ground temperature environments significantly increase the risk of hidden surface cracks in secondary lining concrete, compromising structural durability and long-term safety. Based on extensive field tests conducted in a plateau railway project, this paper systematically investigates the distribution characteristics, formation mechanisms, and key influencing factors of hidden cracks. A comprehensive prevention technology system centered on "temperature reduction and shrinkage control, enhanced moisture retention, and process solidification" is proposed. Through two-phase comparative field tests, it was demonstrated that an integrated approach— Incorporating 40% fly ash content, optimized water-binder ratio, concrete placing temperature ≤15°C, and the application of 2–3 layers of curing agent combined with mist-spray curing—Remarkably reduces the occurrence of hidden cracks. Test results indicate that this strategy lowered the hidden crack panel ratio from 22.9% to 3.6%, effectively enhancing the crack resistance of secondary lining concrete under high-temperature and low-pressure conditions. This study provides both theoretical insights and practical technical references for tunnel concrete construction in similar geological and climatic environments.
Junjun DuanChuang Jiang

2026-04-032026-04-038110.59429/pest.v8i1.13408Study on mechanical properties and carbon sequestration capacity of carbon sequestration concrete based on TOPSIS
https://ojs.as-pub.com/index.php/PEST/article/view/13410

To address the dual challenges of construction waste recycling and carbon sequestration in the concrete industry, this study employs the TOPSIS method to conduct a comprehensive comparative analysis of the mechanical properties and carbon sequestration capacity between carbon-sequestering concrete and conventional concrete. It systematically investigates the impact of carbon-sequestering concrete on the mechanical performance and carbon sequestration capability of CO2-cured concrete. As global climate change intensifies, the traditional concrete industry—Primarily reliant on cement-based materials— Faces unprecedented environmental pressures due to its massive carbon emissions. Carbon-sequestering concrete (CSC)[1],an innovative technology that actively absorbs and sequesters carbon dioxide, is recognized as a critical pathway to achieving carbon neutrality in the concrete sector. However, while sequestering carbon, CSC often exhibits changes in mechanical properties such as compressive strength, flexural strength, and elastic modulus, posing challenges for engineering applications. The core issue in this field is how to scientifically, comprehensively, and objectively evaluate the overall performance of carbon-sequestering concrete[2], thereby maximizing its carbon sequestration benefits while ensuring structural safety. To address the aforementioned issues, this study proposes a multi-attribute decisionmaking evaluation method based on TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution). The method aims to establish a comprehensive evaluation system that simultaneously considers both the mechanical properties and carbon sequestration capacity of carbon-sequestering concrete, thereby providing theoretical foundations and decision-making support for resolving the trade-off and optimization of "performance-benefit" in carbon-sequestering concrete. First, this study systematically investigates the carbon sequestration mechanism and mechanical property influencing factors of carbonsequestering concrete, establishing an 8-item comprehensive evaluation system comprising 5 mechanical performance indicators (compressive strength, flexural strength, elastic modulus, impermeability, and dry shrinkage rate) and 3 carbon sequestration capability indicators (carbon sequestration rate, carbon sequestration per unit volume, and carbon sequestration efficiency). Second, to address the limitations of the TOPSIS method in handling dimensional and magnitude differences among evaluation indicators, the Entropy Weight Method[3] is introduced to determine objective weights for each indicator, thereby eliminating subjective influences on evaluation results. Finally, a case study demonstrates the application process of the developed comprehensive evaluation model, with comparative analysis and ranking of the overall performance of carbon-sequestering concrete with different mix proportions. The research findings demonstrate that the entropy-weighted TOPSIS-based comprehensive evaluation model developed in this study effectively quantifies the performance of carbon sequestration concrete. This model not only provides researchers and engineers with a scientific and objective evaluation tool, but also serves as a critical reference for optimizing concrete mix proportions, regulating performance, and making engineering application decisions[4-6]. The study lays a theoretical foundation for the sustainable development of carbon sequestration concrete and provides robust support for its application in green infrastructure projects.
Menglei YuanZizhen ShenLei WangWenxi Xu

https://ojs.as-pub.com/index.php/PEST/article/view/13411

Large-scale sporting events such as the Super Bowl generate substantial environmental impacts, yet traditional assessment frameworks often underestimate total impacts and fail to consider locationspecific factors that can result in environmental impact differences of up to 10 times between cities hosting identical events. This study develops a comprehensive environmental sustainability assessment framework that explicitly distinguishes between location-dependent and location-independent environmental effects for Super Bowl host city evaluation. The framework integrates multiple environmental indicators into a unified Environmental Sustainability Score through regional differentiation factors including climate, transportation infrastructure, energy structure, and waste management capacity. Evaluation results demonstrate that energy structure factor is the most critical determinant of environmental sustainability, with cities featuring high renewable energy ratios consistently achieving higher scores than those with low renewable energy ratios. The framework successfully identifies sustainable hosting options beyond traditional selection criteria. This research provides a data-driven approach for evidence-based host city selection, emphasizing that prioritizing cities with high renewable energy ratios and strong public transportation infrastructure can significantly reduce environmental impacts.
Shu YangLingqian FengJiani ZhangMiaojia LiAo Zhang

https://ojs.as-pub.com/index.php/PEST/article/view/13412

Addressing issues such as equipment aging, liquid sulfur transportation safety hazards, and insufficient market adjustment capacity in the sulfur recovery system of Luojiazhai Gas Field, this paper conducts a comparative analysis and feasibility study of technical upgrade options for the sulfur shaping unit, using Xuanhan Natural Gas Purification Plant as a case study. By comparing steel belt granulation, drum granulation, and water granulation processes, the technical route for constructing a new 1200 t/d water granulation unit was determined. Based on life-cycle cost (LCC) theory, an economic evaluation was conducted across three dimensions: investment estimates, operational maintenance costs, and synergistic production-sales efficiency gains. Results indicate that while this solution entails higher initial investment than retrofitting existing lines, it fundamentally eliminates long-distance liquid sulfur transportation risks. Furthermore, by implementing a "store during off-peak, sell during peak" strategy, it achieves potential annual efficiency gains of several million yuan. This approach demonstrates significant technological advancement and economic viability.
Hong YinFang PengLan LiRan JiangXia LuoMengwei Liu

https://ojs.as-pub.com/index.php/PEST/article/view/13414

With the explosive development of China's e-commerce industry, express logistics has becomea key driver of national socio-economic growth, but also a major source of packaging waste and carbon emissions. Under the "dual-carbon" target of peaking carbon emissions before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060, the promotion of green packaging in e-commerce logistics faces prominent dilemmas: high cost pressure on enterprises, insufficient recycling and reuse infrastructure, weak consumer participation and fragmented supervision. Taking e-commerce logistics packaging as the research object, this paper analyzes the main obstacles of green packaging promotion from the perspectives of cost structure, system design and stakeholder behavior, constructs a collaborative governance framework involving government, platforms, logistics enterprises and consumers, and puts forward targeted strategies such as standard system optimization, incentive mechanism design, digital supervision and reverse logistics system improvement, so as to provide reference for promoting the green and lowcarbon transformation of e-commerce logistics.
Qiying Xie

https://ojs.as-pub.com/index.php/PEST/article/view/13417

Environmental disputes and compliance requirements in China increasingly hinge on timely legal assistance that can translate fast-evolving regulatory rules into actionable guidance for firms and residents. This article develops a practical framework for evaluating environmental legal service (ELS) efficiency in Jiangxi Province by linking four operational determinants: the deployment of AI tools for intake, retrieval, and drafting; the clarity and throughput of environmental licensing processes (e.g., permitting and planning EIA procedures); the depth of legal expertise embedded in service teams; and the stability of the policy environment faced by service providers and users. We propose an efficiency measurement pipeline that combines data envelopment analysis with a quasi-experimental pre–post comparison of pilot jurisdictions that introduced AI-assisted service workflows. Illustrative results indicate that AI-enabled triage and knowledge retrieval can raise ELS efficiency, but only when paired with streamlined licensing interfaces and professional capacity building. Policy stability further conditions returns by reducing repeated rework, inconsistent enforcement expectations, and advisory volatility. The findings provide implementationoriented guidance for provincial justice administrations seeking to scale trustworthy AI in public legal services while maintaining compliance with data governance and algorithm accountability requirements.
Ruan YanAimi Fadzirul

2026-04-032026-04-038110.59429/pest.v8i1.13417Study on physical and mechanical properties of rock under high temperature action
https://ojs.as-pub.com/index.php/PEST/article/view/13418

To explore the influence laws and internal mechanisms of high temperature on the physical and mechanical properties of rock, and clarify the evolutionary characteristics of rock performance under different lithologies and temperature conditions, this paper takes the tight sandstone of Xujiahe Formation, shale of Longmaxi Formation in Sichuan Basin and granite of Beishan in Gansu Province as the research objects. By combining laboratory experiments with numerical simulation methods, the variation laws of physical properties (bulk density, porosity, permeability, acoustic characteristics) and mechanical properties (uniaxial compressive strength, elastic modulus, Poisson's ratio, creep characteristics) of rocks after hightemperature treatment in the range of 30℃ to 1000℃ are systematically studied. The microscopic damage mechanism of rock under high temperature is analyzed, and a disturbed state constitutive model of hightemperature rock is established. The research results show that there are differences in the high-temperature threshold of rocks with different lithologies: the threshold temperature of sandstone is about 500℃, that of shale is about 400℃, and the strengthening-weakening transition temperature of granite under shortterm heating is about 200℃. With the increase of temperature, the bulk density of rock decreases gradually, the porosity and permeability increase significantly, the acoustic parameters show a downward trend, and the mechanical strength and elastic modulus decrease overall. Long-term heating will further aggravate rock damage due to subcritical crack propagation. The damage effect of high temperature on shale is significantly higher than that on sandstone, which is mainly attributed to the combustion and pyrolysis of organic matter in shale. Confining pressure can inhibit the crack propagation of rock under high temperature and improve the long-term stability of rock mass. The research results can provide theoretical basis and technical support for practical engineering such as nuclear waste disposal, geothermal resource development, oil and gas well stimulation, and fire resistance design of underground engineering.
Baoheng LiuYongping Wu
