Abstract
This paper presents a preliminary method for matching the main powertrain parameters of a battery electric vehicle. A longitudinal dynamics model is used to calculate traction force, motor torque, motor speed, and motor-side power. For a 1500 kg case vehicle, the motor-side power demand at 120 km/h on a level road is about 23.2 kW. A design set including 45 kW continuous power, 90 kW peak power, 250 N·m peak torque, and 55 kWh battery energy is proposed for verification. The method is suitable for early design screening and teaching applications.
