Abstract
As a new type of research university, Southern University of Science and Technology has been among the ranks of “double fi rst-class” universities and its main scientifi c research indicators are among the best in the country. How did this “Shenzhen speed” of the development of Chinese universities come about? This paper attempts to start from the School of Science, the main contributor to the scientifi c research index of Southern University of Science and Technology, to investigate the study and life of graduate students as a breakthrough, through quantitative and qualitative research methods, to build a map of the study and life of graduate students in the school of Science, and explore the useful experience worth learning from; At the same time, it also tries to fi nd out its shortcomings and provide some thinking for the better development of the school
