Abstract

Studying music itself is definitely important for understanding how it works in people’s minds, spirits, and society, however, studying the carrier or medium that is used to spread music is also important for the development of music research. This paper analyzes one mobile music-listening application and uses it as a case to discuss how the design of mobile applications could influence people’s experience of listening.
