Abstract Since Ross Girshick introduced deep learning to object detection and proposed RCNN networks in 2014, the field of object detection has been blasting ahead. Deep learning-based object detection algorithms typically classify and regress region proposals. In the one-stage detector, these region proposals are the anchor boxes generated by the sliding window approach. In this paper, we first give a brief overview of anchors and compare the advantages and disadvantages of both anchor base and anchor-free object detection. Then, we collect and organize the anchor-free object detection algorithms (such as CenterNet, FCOS, FSAF, etc.) that have received much attention and use in recent years. We also present a detailed description of the anchor-free object detection algorithms in three parts (keypoint-based, Segmentation-based, and YOLO series).

Based on the author’s teaching practice and thinking of art English translation teaching in recent years, this paper puts forward some countermeasures for the above problems, and hopes to attract the attention and research of teachers and scholars to the teaching of art English translation teaching in art colleges.

A single modality means exchange only through a single channel. If the exchange is made through three or more perceptual channels, it is multimodal. One or more learning modes are gradually being replaced by new multimodal learning modes. Multimodal research is a new hot spot of language learning, but also the key problem of classroom English teaching reform. Under the impetus of such technological advancements and market forces, significant transformations have emerged in the developmental paradigm of learning sciences in China, alongside substantial shifts in classroom dynamics and teaching feedback mechanisms. These new technologies and new business models pose several challenges to Chinese education systems. Higher qualifications are now demanded of educators, especially when implementing these advanced teaching tools; however, some regional and agerelated disparities persist, hindering teachers’ adaptation to current requirements. Furthermore, the Matthew effect in educational resource accessibility is exacerbated by these technological innovations, intensifying the disparity in knowledge acquisition quality among students and jeopardizing social educational equity. Additionally, these new technologies and business models contribute to a heightened sense of pressure and anxiety in the student learning experience, thereby diminishing overall learner well-being. To address these challenges, it is recommended to expedite the balanced deployment of new technology-driven educational infrastructure, bridging urban-rural and regional divides. It is also crucial to delineate clear boundary regulations for online and offline learning durations and to establish well-founded new technology teaching management systems. Efforts should be made to foster a comprehensive societal understanding of the positive role that new technologies and business models can play in educational enhancement.

Abstract News algorithms are being increasingly incorporated into news production process including newsgathering, production and dissemination with an aim to automate journalistic tasks. To this end, this paper examines the societal challenges that limits the adoption of algorithms. Existing literature have discussed ethical issue related to legal accountability of algorithms in the event of producing stories with inaccurate data and potential solution to release algorithm-related information to public in hope of achieving accountability. In doing so, studies have indicated the importance to understand how audiences may perceive on algorithmbased news production. Regarding potential replacement of journalists with algorithms, scholars have found that due to limited access to structured data, algorithms are still far from replacing journalists. In addition, researchers have highlighted that to avoid existing ethical issues of biases and discriminations from being embedded into algorithms, it is crucial to confront and rectify the hierarchical logic that serves as the root cause of discrimination prior to the development of algorithms. In terms of public interest value, studies have touched on the bad influence of newsroom metrics on news coverage and quality due to editorial news selection process being oriented towards audience preferences over publishing stories with public interest value. Traditionally, public service value is also challenged due to excessive dependence of journalists on reliable official sources with economic or political authority for news leads. This creates patterns of asymmetry in service to public, leading to marginalization of social groups. However, this issue has been somewhat overlooked and with the introduction of news algorithms, it could be the right moment to explore the capacity of algorithm-based news to serve the public interest of diverse social groups.

Abstract This study investigates the correlation between information dissemination mechanisms and the psychological characteristics of the general public. Information dissemination is a complex and multifaceted process, requiring targeted propagation strategies for different types of information. Many scholars have expressed a keen interest in information dissemination and have developed various models to explore the underlying mechanisms. This paper systematically summarizes and optimizes two commonly used information dissemination models: the social network model and the SIR (Susceptible-Infected-Recovered) model. These models are based on different assumptions, aiming to address the core question of “how information is disseminated.” Furthermore, this study employs psychological analysis methods to examine the behavioral patterns of the general public during the information dissemination process, in order to validate the rationality of the proposed dissemination mechanisms. By conducting in-depth research and optimizing the dissemination models, we can better understand the regularity and influencing factors of information dissemination, providing theoretical support and practical guidance for the further development of this field.
